Post Covid recovery with right nutrition therapy and strong will power

One can fight Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) a rare disorder even after getting infected with SARS corona, in which the body's immune system severely damages nerve and cause muscle weakness sometimes leading to paralysis. As  its cause is not fully understood, the syndrome often follows infection with a virus or bacteria here.

Catch point: one X patient 30 years old Male in Covid time having case of GB Syndrome along with symptoms like double vision , hoarseness of voice and chocking episodes after food, pain in lips, neck tightness, bifacial weakness, he was having difficulty in swallowing.

I am sharing experience of one patients who suffered from post Covid  GBS ,he had (SARS-CoV-2) on 15 April 2021 along with thyroid issues and uric acid levels high.

2nd may 2021 he was facing weakness in the limbs and was unable to speak.

5th may 2021 his left side of the face developed palsy.

6th may  2021 he was hospitalized, post 10 days he was showing improvement with minor headache but had coughing episode after having tea and symptoms started surfacing.

11th June  2021 throat endoscopy  found that left throat muscle are sluggish as compare to right one. On this day patient contacted me. As per symptoms diet history was collected and nutrition care plan was prepared. It was explained through online session and even texture was modified in first week of June.

13th June 2021
patient was experiencing numbness in the hip area this is new symptom and Dr advised for spine scan and CSF test . Based on which he had  undergone steroids course of IVIG again. He was hospitalized for the same, latest report showed  creatinine and uric acid within range and the condition not deteriorated after started diet plan therapy. post which patient got discharged from hospital. Since protein was low and poor swallowing difficulty started nutritional supplement.

22 June  2021  Patients started  feeling good, energy  is seen better, He was not having headache. His bowel movement had improved. He also tried walking some 30 steps same day with the help of walker. His current weight then was 70kg, he had lost 12kg lost during Covid. Diet was modified as per tolerance. He couldn’t walk at all or even stand initially but slow progress was seen in his movement.

Post 15 days (27 June 2021) gradual improvement was seen in the patients. His movement got better and ease.

As rightly said "End well all well" 2 July 2021 he was fit enough to start working and attended office and presently adopted a pet dog which plays with the patient to improve recovery.

Post recovery insights reported by his wife:

Patient's muscles are improving. He started doing squats 2 days back and able to do 15 squads. He was also advised to walk around in the house 4-5 times. No facial palsy was visible. Lower limb was getting stronger day by day. The weight was 69.5 kg. Although he was not able to eat everything from the plan still his energy was consistent throughout the day. His BP was noted to be 107/58 after breakfast. So gave him coffee then it improved to 114/76.

Post  one week his muscular weakness had definitely reduced. He was able to walk up and down the stairs 3 times from ground floor to first floor. Definitely an improvement in energy and endurance was seen.

After 5 days patient  was able to follow the attached diet chart completely as previously he was not able to have paneer. Still he was missing few things like milk and almonds in night since he felt full in night. His TSH had decreased to the normal range. His doctor had reduced concentration of thyroid medicine.
she also shared his video. His day with office work was going good.
As per his wife , he worked for whole last week with some break in between days.
